Hurricane Katrina and Rita Info for Grantees

The DHHS Office for Human Research Protections (OHRP)understands that the effects of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita have been devastating to areas in Louisiana, Texas, Alabama and Mississippi, and as a result, some human subject protection programs at institutions in the affected areas are unable to function, and may be unable to for some time. OHRP has prepared information to help institutions and institutional review boards (IRBs) manage the hurricanes' impact on oversight of research and research subject interventions. This information is available at http://www.hhs.gov/ohrp/policy/hurricane.html.
